Trick or Treat

From the girls standpoint, Halloween is a great time of the year. Candy, little toys, costumes and did I mention Candy. Part of the carnival that we attended at their school was a cake walk, in this case cup cake walk, and we managed to bring home a dozen. But there is no place to hide them in our house and cup cakes are the one thing those girls can hone in on and demand. Not only do they demand, they also throw tantrums when they are told, "Cup Cakes come after dinner".
Pictures here.

We had to wait until dark and this time of the year that is 7:00PM. We put on our costumes and they were given the choice of eating dinner or not but there was a connection to be made; Eating dinner = going trick or treating! We only went around the short block. We visited just a few neighbors who really know the girls. The received some special hand outs because they were expecting us. Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. G for the coloring books. Then it was home to hand out candy.

First they could not believe that we would actually give away our candy from the house. Then we talked about sharing and looking at the other children in costumes. The conversation fell upon deaf ears when they realized they could play in the dark grass and leaves in the front yard. When DAD finally got cold and we ran out of candy, we wrapped it up for the night.

We were fortunate that we limited the candy / sugar intake this year. The little that did get managed to melt off pretty quickly and so after tussing about over brushing teeth and wearing our costumes to bed, AGAIN>>>>>
