Intervention Weekend and Picnics

I must admit, when it comes to family and it comes to the people that we love the most; it pains one to know that they must pass through certain points in their life and record them with time. This weekend, one such event happened to Grandma. In the next few days she will turn that blissful 50. Most of her family and friends got to gether and had a LIFE INTERVENTION for her. We told her about aging, we told her the problems she would face, we told her that at some point she would have to quit working. We were intervening be/c we love her and didn't want her to mark another birthday and get older.

Our cake says it all. We wish her the best as she continues to let time come and go daily. We cannot stop time or live her life for her, but love her just the same as she continues to march on. I hope she knows that inevitably she will not be alone and whatever she decides we will be by her side.

Although it has been said that 50 is now the new 30, all of the "younger kids" seemed upset that being 24 was like working an uphill battle, that if 50 is the new 30 then 24 must be the same as being 6 all over again, only this time with responsibility of working and paying into the SSA tax structure to support the "THE NEW 30!"

We also found out this weekend that CaNoodle has an affection for Cake. In fact one of the best vocabulized words is CAKE.... and yes, if you look closely in top picture you can see a little finger in the frosting.
