Happy 4th of July

This is going to be a long one, I think, so relax and enjoy the ride, and boy howdy, what a ride it has been.

We started out on Friday, July 4th down at our local parade. The Internet annoucement said 10A start. We arrived at 930A to get a good spot where we could see it all and stratgically placed so the bands were not in between songs between viewing areas. Dammit, we want music! The parade didn't start until 10:45 and it was closer to 11A when it reached us. Keeping these two active, out of trouble and out of boredom was quite the chore. But we managed. The parade, it was pretty good. Worth the wait? well we waited and it was ok.

We got home much later than we anticipated and cancelled our birthday party for one of the girl's friends from school. We were all wiped out from the sun and the excitement not to mention the dying sugar high that was they were coming off of. We all ended up taking a nap until very late in the afternoon. We had some dinner and wanted to go see our local community firework display but it didn't work out. We ended up staying home.

Don't get me wrong, when I say I want to buy fireworks for the girls, it is for the girls. Why them, because when I was growing up we had them. My dad had them when he was growing up. Apparently, HE was the importer into his small town and had them delivered by the cases to sell to his friends.
